Washington Weekend

Everyone had a great weekend last week. Preston was able to spend some valuable time with his Aunt Darlene and Will and Royce enjoyed the fireworks with Grandma B and Grandpa. Which meant that Carrie and I were able to enjoy two days without the kids and spend time with my brother Matt and sister-in-law Noel. As seen by the photos, we took in the sites in DC, watched a game at Nationals Park, and helped Matt and Noel celebrate their anniversary with a dinner out with friends. A great start to a great weekend.

Royce Swimming Part II

We now have actual footage of Royce's swimming exploits. These pictures have not been doctored in any way, they are real. All stunts are performed live by Royce Hartin and were supervised by a professional, in this case, the lifeguard.

We're Training the Next Katie Hoff here on Sussex Road

.... Or Royce just passed the deep water test at our neighborhood pool. Either way we're really proud of how well she did today.

She celebrated by doing a few laps in the deep end and going off the diving board for about a half an hour.

We're also celebrating Preston's new acceptance of the kiddie pool. Apparently he's not completely afraid of the water. We've managed to have quite the successful water weekend.

Corolla Vacation 2009

We're enjoying our beach vacation. That is, once it got started.

Will came down with a skin infection on Sunday morning which required four out of five of us to wait until Monday morning to leave for NC. Luckily, Royce was able to catch a ride with our friends the Verton's on Sunday.

While the weather hasn't been the greatest we've been having a great time with our friends and their kids.

Hartin Hopscotch

Yes, that's right. A 36 year old father with bad knees and a broken wrist can still teach his daughter "what's up" when it comes to a game of hopscotch.

The Kitchen Sink

We're giving you a little bit of everything since it's been awhile.

MAY - Both Royce and Will celebrated the end of the school year with a bunch of friends and quite a few parties.

JUNE - The weather has certainly started to turn. Finally a little less rain and more time for outdoor fun.
